I was raised in rural Pennsylvania and later lived in Vermont, Washington, Massachusetts, and Oregon.
My father is an artist and my mother taught first grade for many years until she became a librarian. My two brothers are an architect and a musician.
From age 12-20, I worked as a waitress, short order cook, and dish washer while going to school.
I worked as a librarian from 1984-1995 and as a researcher in aging studies from 1996-present. In 2000, I went to a dance at the Casino and fell in love with Gulfport. I bought my home two months later. Two years later, I fell in love again at the Casino, this time with my husband Don. We adopted Michael from birth in 2005. Don and I work from home in research & software development. He is an avid organic gardener and musician.
